3-D Design/Animation: Construction of three-dimensional models with animated movement and texture, lighting, and rendering
Web Design: introduction to page layout including tables, frames
Web Design II: usability, cascading style sheets, javascript
The area of digital media can best be described as cutting edge and artistic, and is growing at a very fast rate. The DMD technology curriculum at COTC is a broad-based but intensive exploration of the process and the business of digital design. Courses include basic design fundamentals as well as specific instruction in digital technologies and designing for print, video, interactive, and the Web.
Student can expect to study the principals of design, color theory, and typography in addition to course in specific digital software tools. Skills taught include critical thinking, design approaches, the underlying theories of digital media, and production techniques.
The curriculum is focused on developing the student’s technical skills and creative vision, with an emphasis on building a portfolio that will prepare the student to enter the workforce in fields of digital media development and design.
